Social media does not cease to surprise us. It seems that Queen Elizabeth II also understands their important role nowadays . She published her first post on Instagram. What was in it and what were the circumstances?
Visit to the Science Museum
During a visit to the London Science Museum, 43 years after she sent her first email, the Queen of Great Britain added a photo to the Instagram profile @theroyalfamily .
Interestingly, this is not a selfie or a picture of herself. This is a letter sent by nineteenth-century mathematician and computer pioneer Charles Babbage to the husband of Queen Victoria, Prince.
Under the content shared on the iPad there is a description: “Today, when I visit the Science Museum, I became interested in a letter from the Royal Archives, written in 1843 to my great-great grandfather, Prince Albert . “
She also explained that she had the pleasure to learn about programming initiatives for children and it seemed so appropriate to her that she published a post on Instagram while at the Science Museum, which has long promoted technology, innovation and inspired the next generation of inventors. Under the post is also the signature: “Elizabeth R.”
The Museum of Science posted a comment in which it indicates that it is honored that the Queen posted her first post while being there.
